The Key on LinkedIn is being relevant to get the connection acceptance door open, then start to position the conversation.
- List all the profiles you have to send connection requests to
- List all profiles who engaged with any content
- Select profiles who are in the right industry
Save them on a Sales Navigator List
- Organize profiles by seniority
- What’s the minimum level – (eg. ceo)
- Who is ideal – (eg. Owner, president or managing partner)
- List of titles – (eg. Owner, president, managing partner, founder, CEO)
- Minimum revenue if applicable
If you get a reply from the “Connection Request” → go to #5 Lead in
If no reply → go to #3 Welcome Message
2. Direct Outreach
- Use sales navigator to find profiles who are a good fit based on ideal customer profile criteria
- Send messages below
- Split test push messages & pull messages to see what’s resulting in the most meetings & closed deals
- If you get a reply from the Connection Request Message → go to #5 Lead in
- If no reply → go to #3 Welcome Message
2.1 PUSH messages
When speaking on “something relevant”, this is what LinkedIn is all about. Relevancy gets the door open, and then you can begin the conversation cycle.
Something relevant can be
- similar industry (ex: ICP is psychologists, Sales Nav industry filter: mental health clinics)
- shared connections (use 2nd degree connections filter on Sales Nav)
- same groups (use groups filter on Sales Nav)
- geographic area (use this filter on Sales Nav)
- shared experiences (Use this filter on Sales Nav to call out shared colleges, work experience, military etc)
- Past company (Use this filter for relevancy)

- Get hyper-personalized with your first sentence showing that you have paid attention to their profile or something they have shared on LinkedIn,
- show interest in them by asking a question that is specific to them/their business or industry and doesn’t require too much time or thought to answer.
